Healthy Vision Network (HVN) is a regional healthcare partnership that provides free glasses and eye exams to underinsured or uninsured adults age 20-64 in St. Louis City and County who met certain eligibility criteria.

HVN is a partnership between ARCHS, Crown Vision Center, Regional Lion's Clubs, the UMSL School of Optometry and area healthcare providers.

The HVN partnership was initially funded by a $134,800 grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH). HVN partners contributed an additional $126,500 in goods and services to support the program.

In 2006, HVN completed the initial two-year educational effort that successfully provided free eye screenings and exams to 1,060 area residents. HVN conducted 906 free eye exams and distributed 1,122 free eyeglasses to underinsured or uninsured adults. Seven cataract surgeries were also performed.

In 2006, MFH awarded ARCHS’ HVN partnership an additional $199,984 two-year grant to continue HVN in Missouri.

ARCHS serves as the HVN Partnership’s St. Louis area coordinator.
